Overview
Gramma (Greek for letter or message) is a lightweight, set-it-and-forget-it email monitor and anti-spam engine for WordPress. It silently logs all outgoing emails, provides a clean dashboard to review delivery history, lets you edit and resend failed emails via modal, and blocks contact form spam before it reaches your SMTP server.
Architectural Rationale:
WordPress SMTP delivery failures often remain hidden until a client loses business, while forms are bombarded with spam. Existing loggers store sensitive emails in plaintext, creating severe GDPR liability in data breach scenarios. Gramma captures all outgoing mail with authenticated AES-256-CBC encryption at rest, provides a resend modal, and drops spam via 8 intelligence layers.
Developer Integration
// Developer filter: Customize retention period
add_filter('gramma_retention_days', function($days) {
return 30; // Auto-purge logs older than 30 days
});
// WP-CLI: Resend failed message by ID
$ wp gramma resend --id=142
WP-CLI: $ wp gramma stats
Deployment Notes
Silent Drop returns boolean true to WordPress form handlers so spam bots believe their attack was delivered, preventing automated retry storms.
